The quality of lighting and grip equipment is ensured by a system of technicians who are often responsible for a single equipment class (dollies, for example), and who check each piece of equipment returning from a job before it is returned to the rental inventory.
CSC also maintains a separate facility 15 minutes outside Manhattan where all trucks and generators returning from jobs are thoroughly checked before they are rented to another production. The facility in Hoboken is also a place where service tasks that might endanger sensitive equipment, such as welding or sandblasting, can be carried out safely.
