Frame leader charts have become a very popular method of showing the lab/transfer house where the specific film format will be placed on the film. The camera assistant shoots several feet of a Frame leader chart, either in the rental house or on set, and sends this footage to the lab along with the production footage. The lab then knows the exact size and position of the format on the film negative. The new ARRI CSC Frameleaders for 35mm, 16mm and Digital formats show all groundglass markings available at ARRI CSC. The pages can be printed and used as template for shooting a Frameleader. The ARRI Guide to Ground Glasses, Frameglow and Format Masks, and Exposed Negative Areas lists and describes all formats and format combination available for ARRICAM and ARRIFLEX 35mm and 16mm cameras, complete with an overview of exposed negative areas in Normal 35, Super 35, Normal 16 and Super 16. Each page shows the groundglass markings with dimensions, as well as matching format masks and frameglows for each camera system (no more confusion between ARRICAM and ARRIFLEX formats!). It also lists special masks, e.g. for the 435 capping shutter, if available. | |
